Leading TracPipe Gas Pipe Supplier
TracPipe (Omegaflex) Gas Pipe and Fittings
TracPipe ® – is a flexible gas pipe made from corrugated stainless steel which is wrapped within a protective polyethylene jacket.

It is semi rigid and can be used for natural gas, propane gas or butane gas. It is manufactured by Omegaflex to British Standard 7838 and can replace most conventional installations that would use conventional copper gas pipe in the UK.
Which applications is flexible gas pipe suitable for?
Flexible gas pipes are appropriate for new buildings, residential or domestic gas pipeline installations, as well as commercial premises.
Benefits of TracPipe

The corrugated construction makes it malleable, allowing it to be formed around corners or obstructions.
It needs less joints which in turn reduces the overall installation time.
Corrugated, flexible stainless steel gas pipe requires no joints in long runs (master reels are available up to 1950 metres) – so there is no threading, welding or soldering needed.
As a result, this eliminates the number of potential gas pipe leaks.

For these reasons, TracPipe is the first choice for domestic gas pipeline installations or gas pipe replacements in houses, flats and apartments.

Traditionally, gas pipe installations can be in awkward enclosed spaces or voids where a traditional copper gas pipe may be difficult to install. With this innovative technology, it couldn’t be simpler running the gas pipe inside.

TracPipe is a less troublesome installation. For projects where copper pipe may need to run along the outside of a building, TracPipe can be fed through walls, under floors and in trenches both inside and outside buildings, subject to the building regulation requirements.
Measuring for TracPipe
It is available in seven nominal bore sizes: DN 12, 15, 22, 28, 32, 40, and 50, and it can be easily joined and terminated with male BSP fittings.

To correctly size for a job, it is best to determine the ‘maximum design pressure loss’ between the point of supply and the appliance connection points.

Kits are available at varying lengths and used when replacing undersized or damaged gas lines in domestic housing.

When used between the meter and gas appliance, the corrugated tubular construction – together with Autoflare Fittings and Autoflare Straight Couplings make most installations easy, fast and safe.

Tracpipe, an excellent alternative to any copper or steel rigid gas pipework, is ideal for UK installers, as it is easy to work with and can save money in material and installation time.
Materials Used in Flexible Gas Pipe
Manufactured using flexible Corrugated Stainless-Steel Tube (CSST).

The outside of the steel tube the external yellow polyethylene gas pipe cover has elements that meet British Standard BS 7838 and BS EN 15266. The cover is proven to prevent flame spread and contains smoke density inhibitors.

Tracpipe is designed to resist ignition by different heat sources, prevent smouldering, and minimise heat released after ignition.

BS 7838 is a performance standard that requires CSST to pass mechanical tests, many of which are not included in BS EN 15266. Among these mechanical tests are resistance to corrosion from moisture.
